Choosing Affordable Water Pipes
When deciding on your first water pipe, there are many factors to consider. Whether it’s size, budget or maintenance you are looking for, the right piece of equipment is critical to your smoking experience. There are endless options when it comes to pipes and determining what really matters can be overwhelming. It’s 4:20 Somewhere.
The first step in choosing the right pipe for you is figuring out what product you will be primarily smoking – flower products or concentrates? Some pipes can only handle one or the other and some can be used with both.

Other considerations include the material of the pipe and the size you need. Glass pipes are known for their durability, heat resistance and purity of taste while acrylic and silicone pipes are lightweight, inexpensive and nearly unbreakable. Metal pipes, such as copper and galvanized steel, are also common and durable but can be more expensive than other types of pipe.
PVC (polyvinyl chloride) pipes are commonly used in cold-water plumbing and are inexpensive and easy to install. They are less prone to clogging than some other types of piping and can be color-coded to indicate hot or cold water. PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) pipes are similar to PVC but are flexible and able to withstand higher temperatures. Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, or ABS, pipe is another type of plastic that’s popular for plumbing and is often used in vent and drain lines. Stainless steel pipes are the most durable of all piping materials but can be more difficult to install.
